Property/Lot Images (Google vs Custom)

Vlge automatically adds an aerial view where available, but you can customize

⭐️ Default View

When you view the all properties page or when you view an individual property, our system defaults to an aerial view based on the address.

Depending on your area, Google may not yet have a proper aerial view, or in some cases, when the property is simply a vacant lot, the address or lot number will not resolve to a proper aerial image.

Google's data tell us the level of confidence as to the image - which is expressed in four location types:

  1. Rooftop - a high confidence data point that this shows the address and home

  2. Range Approximation - Google believes it is close but not exact

  3. Geometric Center - a lower confidence "guess", usually wrong

  4. Approximate - Truly a pure guess

We rely on the Rooftop data, and when not available, we use a placeholder which you can edit for your community. Homeowners/Members can edit their own property image by adding a custom one as well.

You can at any time use your own default image for addresses not found, or in cases where the address refers to a Townhome or Condo community you may find your own image more suitable. In these cases, navigate to General Settings -- Preferences -- and look for the Default Images tab.

The screenshot above shows the Vlge default images for no available image, but using the upload image buttons, you can change your defaults for both vacant lots and occupied homes.
