In order to build a reusable layout for sending emails to your community members, visit Admin Tools -- Messaging and look for Email Templates in the configuration tools at the bottom.
NOTE: Automation Templates is NOT the customizable layout version - that exists for scripting your triggered emails based on programmed events.
👉 Open the Email Templates page - select a template to edit or create a new template.
Page Layout
See the screenshot below, where, in Zone 1 on the left, you can drag building blocks for layout, text, image dividers, and buttons from the left onto the canvas to create your template.
In the current screenshot below, the image is selected. If you place an image placeholder or click on an existing image, you'll see the image tools in the right toolbar, which allow you to:
Upload an image of your own
Select images from your own library
Create a new image with AI and save it to your library
The tools affecting that image are lower down in the right toolbar, including:
Margin
Padding
Alignment
Corner radius
Its relative width (default 100%)
If you click on a text building block, such as Heading, or Text, the toolbar on the right contains merge fields for personalization of your email template. You can center or otherwise align your text as well.
When finished, you can send a test email to yourself to view your template in production, or click "Save Template" in the top right in order to begin using your template in an email send.
To use your new template, go back to the Messaging page, select Email Messaging, and create a new email. You'll see the options to "create from scratch" using the standard email editor or "Use a template."
You can select your new template as saved here in the drop-down, or choose "Create New Template." You'll see the default template layout shown in the email creation, allowing you to make edits, add components, edit text, and even save a new template from the creation screen.
Edit the template now in this creation screen adding your own text specifically for this email send as well as customizing images, headings or buttons.
