General

Q: What is VNN?

A: Village Neighbor Network is a hyperlocal vendor directory and advertising platform for HOA communities. It helps residents find trusted local service providers recommended by neighbors.

Q: Is VNN free?

A: Yes, VNN is 100% free for residents. Vendors may optionally pay for advertising, and HOAs earn a % of the revenue.

Q: Is VNN available in my community?

A: VNN is enabled by your HOA administrator. If you don't see a Vendor Directory link, contact your administrator - or build your neighborhood and spread the word.


For Residents

Q: Can I add a vendor?

A: Yes! Any verified resident can add vendors they've worked with to the directory.

Q: Do I have to write a review?

A: No, reviews are optional. But reviews help your neighbors make better decisions. A basic rating is required (anonymous)

Q: Will my name show on reviews?

A: Only your first name (e.g., "Sarah M.") is displayed to protect your privacy. Ratings will not show any names.

Q: Can I edit or delete my review?

A: Contact your administrator. Reviews can be edited within 48 hours of posting.


For Vendors

Q: How do I claim my business?

A: Go to the vendor portal (ads.vlge.io), search for your business, and complete the verification process.

Q: Do I have to advertise?

A: No, advertising is optional. You can have a profile with reviews without paying anything.

Q: Can I respond to negative reviews?

A: Yes, claimed vendors can respond to any review. Responses are moderated for professionalism.

Q: Can I pay to remove a bad review?

A: No. Reviews cannot be purchased or removed by payment. Only reviews violating guidelines are removed.


For HOA Admins

Q: How do I enable VNN?

A: Go to Admin Area β†’ General Settings β†’ Features and toggle Vendor Directory (VNN) on.

Q: How does revenue share work?

A: Your HOA keeps 70% of all vendor advertising fees. Payments are processed monthly via Stripe Connect.

Q: Can I moderate reviews?

A: Yes, admins can review flagged content and approve/reject reviews that don't meet guidelines.

Q: Can I disable specific categories?

A: Yes, you can toggle which vendor categories are visible in your community's directory.
