Owners: Track Key Home Details

Improve resale value by tracking your home's key info

Your home's details are useful for personal reference over time, but certainly come in handy when its time to sell. Items like manuals, appliance warranties, and service history are valuable details for future buyers, and help you remember who to call.

Vlge offers homeowners several features to track items and projects in the home.

Home Improvements

Home improvements like painting (save your colors), additions, remodels and others affect the tax basis of your home. Tracking these projects is not only useful for warranty and future repair work, but for establishing the new basis when you sell.

Click "Add Project" and you can add key details including cost so that as you calculate your tax basis on sale, you have all the data. Note: This information is only visible to a user that is listed as an "Owner" of the property. This means future owners will be able to see the information (unless you delete it before transfer) but the Board and other admin users will not.

Appliances

Similar to Home Improvement projects, you can save important information about your appliances (purchase receipts, dates, retailers, warranty, manuals) in your property profile. This information will transfer as well unless edited or removed.

Bulbs, Filters & More

As a homeowner you can document the common consumable items used in the home as well. This section offers the ability to store common filters, bulbs, etc. and include links to repurchase. Home buyers find the convenience of this type of information very valuable.

Service Providers

Who do you use for plumbing? Electrician? Garage Doors? Roofing? Add it here. Not only is it useful for you to quickly recall your go-to provider, but its invaluable to share with the new homeowner who has been servicing the property.

When Adding a Service Provider, you can add key information to help your neighbors find the vendor, and let them know your rating as well as whether you recommend them.
